New Kindermusik Classes

The winter/spring semester of Kindermusik classes are just beginning! Parents are enrolling their youngest children in the Village class, Hickory Dickory Tickle and Bounce. Toddlers through age 42 months are enjoying singing, playing instruments, and moving to Our Time's Fiddle-Dee-Dee. Children ages 3 1/2 through age 5 are studying sounds, rhythms, and movement through ABC Music & Me, Sounds Abound, Rhythms of the Land, and Dance with Me. Kindermusik at Neighborhood Academy of Music enriches children's lives musically, developmentally, and socially, and has been an enduring and important component of the program of Neighborhood Academy since it was founded in 2000.

Music Recital a Success

The Neighborhood Academy of Music held its annual musical Benefit Recital at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church on Sunday, November 23. Seventy-six students from Neighborhood Academy of Music played piano, guitar, violin, saxophone, and drums. The home school band performed, as well as several vocal soloists. Artwork created by art students enrolled in art classes was also displayed.

$603 in cash and gift cards was raised for Safe Child of NC, a non-profit organization that helps to educate families against child abuse. Approximately $100 in other supplies were donated to Safe Child, also.

The children (and families) loved the opportunity to experience the fruits of their musical lessons.
